Transfer of school principals as directed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Ministry of Education took effect when schools re-opened in January, 2018.
In Molo Sub County, principals who had been in schools for more than nine years received the news of transfer in a surprise.

A long serving principal for Elburgon secondary school Mr James Mungai was transferred to Ololoiser Boys secondary school in Kajiado County.
Mr Peter Ndung’u from Alliance Boys replaced Mr Mungai.
Other schools that have experienced transfer of teachers include Molo Academy, Naivasha and Larmudiac secondary school in Njoro sub-county.
Meanwhile, Nakuru County Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) Executive Secretary Mr Mungai Muhia said the move to transfer teachers by the TSC to delocalise management of schools by undertaking massive transfers is welcome but the commission should consider in some cases where teachers appeal against their transfers.
