World Scout Parliamentary Union Kenya launches magazine

World Scout Parliamentary Union Kenya (WSPU-Kenya) has launched a magazine meant to present remarkable stories, initiatives, and the spirit of scouting.

The magazine will be selling under the title “SCOUTING CONNECT: Exploring the World with Purpose.”

Poppins Misoi, WSPU- Kenya Executive Director while speaking at the launch of the magazine,  said that it will include a summarisation of articles bundled up with galore of pictures that celebrate dedicated scouts, leaders and volunteers who embody the ethos of scouting in Kenya.

“The publication highlights how the laws are made, the role of public participation, and the role of the youth and as well provide a path of how to come up with income generating activities”

“The magazine is also meant to market Nyeri worldwide as we pride ourselves in being the second home and final resting place to Scouts Founder Baden Powell and his wife which has put us on the World map as the ideal destination for scouting delegations, he said.

WSPU-Kenya Board Member who doubles as Nyeri Governor, Mutahi Kahiga said that the county government will support scouting programmes through policies, legislation and resource mobilization as it develops programmes and markets the county as a scout destination.

The governor pointed out that Nyeri County was honoured to host WSPU 2023 Africa Assembly in June last year and will also host the Executive Global Meeting this year while the 11th General WSPU Assembly in 2025 will also be held in Nyeri.

WSPU is an international organization that connects scout-oriented parliamentarians world-wide.

WSPU-Kenya is an independent association of parliamentarians, including members of National Assembly, Senate and County Assemblies established in 1990.
