Schools in Narok to benefit from water projects

Narok County Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu has today launched three water projects namely Olmusereji, Lemek and Mararianta Water Projects in Narok West Sub- County.

Ntutu while speaking at the launch of the water projects said that Olmusereji Water point which is located in Olmusereji Centre is a solar powered borehole complete with livestock water troughs.

He said the water point will guarantee continuous supply of water for both livestock and residents of Olmusereji centre as well as the neighbouring Olmusereji primary school and will ease pressure on Olmusereji spring which has been the only source water for residents of that area.

The county boss added that the Mararianta Water point is fully operational and residents will no longer have to fetch water from the Mara River and the clean drilled water will increase sanitation standards and minimize outbreak of waterborne diseases like Cholera, dysentery and Bilharzia.

He lauded the area MCA Moses Sikona, Water Chief Officer Willy Loigero, (MMWCA) CEO Daniel Ole Sopia and the Director GDU Jacob Sairowua for their tireless efforts of ensuring that the projects were completed well.
