13 pupils were injured in a road accident yesterday evening as they travelled back home after participating in inter-school games in Kwale, police reports indicate.
The police said the pupils of Majoreni Primary and Junior Secondary School are admitted at Msambweni County Referral Hospital with diverse degrees of chest, leg, hand and head injuries.
Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
It was also reported that the bus they were being transported in was overloaded with 95 pupils, meaning that that might have been the cause.
Several accidents involving learners have been reported in the region in the past. In March, several Kenyatta University students died as the bus they were travelling in crashed. Later, a Pwani University bus was also involved in an accident, killing and injuring students.
