Police probe murder of school night guard in Kiambu

Police in Kiambu are investigating the murder of a 45-year-old private security guard at a secondary school in the area.

The deceased, Nicholas Angwenyi met his unfortunate death on Saturday night after a number of unknown robbers raided the All Saints Cianda High School after he tried to raise the alarm to the residents near the institution.

Kiambu OCS Michael Muchiri, while confirming the incident revealed that preliminary investigations have kicked off to ensure the justice for the family of the fallen school guard.

Muchiri said that the gang stole assorted valuables from the staffroom as well as from some class rooms in the school.

Angwenyi had deep cuts on the back and his body lay in a pool of blood.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy. No arrests have been made so far.

At the same time, Kenya National Private Security Workers Union Secretary General (KNPSWU) Isaac Andabwa (pictured below) has condemned the murder and asked authorities to ensure justice is served.

“Guards are always victims in such incidents and all we ask is for authorities to ensure the man’s family gets justice,” he said.

As the institution is thrown in a sombre mood, preparations for the burial of the slain security have kicked off.
