President William Ruto has promised school uniform for all pupils at Lenana School Primary.

President William Ruto has pledged to buy school uniform for all learners at the newly opened Lenana School Primary.

The Head of State, while presiding over the official opening of the school, revealed the same will be extended to all newly admitted students who will be allowed to continue with learning as they wait for the new outfit.

“For every child who comes here for the first time, I will buy them uniform and shoes. These children have come here with uniforms from other schools, and the other ones have come with home clothes. But even before the uniform arrive, these children should continue learning,” he said, further promising to sponsor the construction of new classrooms, which he said will be delivered in the next two months.

“I have offered to build those new classrooms… it is not the ministry… and I will construct those 24 classrooms. This contractor is commencing the works today, so that in the next two months I will return to commission it,” he said.

Also at the event were Cabinet secretaries Kithure Kindiki (Interior) and Ezekiel Machogu (Education),  several Principal secretaries, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, and area MP John Kiarie.
