West Pokot girl qualifies East Africa games in high jump

The high jumper Naomi Chenangat will represent Kenya in the East Africa competitions.

Naomi Chenangat from West Pokot will represent Kenya in the East Africa athletics competitions to be held later this year after winning in high jump in the nationals in Nyeri.

She is a student at Kaporon Junior Secondary School, where she has honed her jumping skills to near perfection.

She is celebrated as having beaten even boys in the event during practice in Physical Education classes.

From a humble background in Mwino, Pokot Central Sub-county, Chenangat is now on the lips of every sports enthusiast in West Pokot. There was total jubilation in the county as the team came back from its national escapades in Nyeri.
