Area MP Mary Maingi said the bursary is a boost to education mostly to the vulnerable families.

She said that if the allocation is added, then there will be an increment.

“I have taken upon myself to take cheques to schools instead of parents thronging at the chiefs offices wasting their day there to collect bursary cheques, this is in line with the marketing laws,” she added.

On the teaching material the MP said that she will be buying revision books so as to keep the schools the same level with other national schools.

“We cannot be competing with the schools like Alliance, Kenya High that have learning materials, if we have to, then I as the MP has to dig deep into my pocket to buy revision materials for our students.”

I have approached TSC so as to get teachers for our schools to fill the gap,” she added.
