Ruto asks youth to take advantage of a million jobs he has created for them abroad

President Ruto flanked by First Lady Rachael and Kilgoris Residents yesterday. He said there are a million jobs out there up for grabs by youth.

President William Ruto has asked the youth to seize every available opportunity and use it to better their lives, especially that the government has secured vacancies for them abroad.

When he addressed a congregation at Idolisho church in Kilgoris yesterday, President William Ruto said countries like Germany, France and China have agreed to absorb one million youth in their job markets.

He asked the youth to train in basic computer skills and advance in them gradually to enable them to work online from their homes.

“When you are equipped with computer knowledge, you can work from anywhere with ease from your home,” he said.

President Ruto called on parents whose children have not gone to school to encourage them to join the recently established youth empowerment centres in constituencies to train in computer and acquire digital skills.

He thanked Kilgoris NGCDF office under the patronage of area MP Julius Sunkuli for providing more than 16 computers to Kilgoris Youth Empowerment Centre and connecting it to WI-FI for internet access.

Commenting on the move, Sunkuli said it was aimed at equipping the youth with modern computer skills for self-reliance.

During the visit, President Ruto who was flanked by area leaders, opened Idolisho Comprehensive School Konza Digital Skills and led the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of Kenya Utalii College Idolisho Campus.

Konza Digital Skills is an initiative under the Konza Jitume programme, which provides digital services, skills and opportunities to the youth to enable them take advantage of technology to create employment.
