4,627 students in a Malindi Ward benefit Ksh7.5M scholarships

Nelson Mandela Mangi, Jilore Ward MCA's manager.

4,627 students in secondary schools, colleges and universities in Jilore Ward in Malindi Sub-county have benefitted from a 7.5 million shilling Ward scholarship since  the sitting MCA Khamis Jambo was elected in  2022.

Speaking to Education News in his office at Baolala Shopping Centre, Jambo revealed that he has prioritized education, calling on all stakeholders in the Ward to support education programmes.

The MCA vowed that there will be no bright student in the Ward who will stay at home due to lack of school fees.

However, Jambo lamented that many have not applied for bursaries, noting that it might defeat the efforts he has put to enhance education in the Ward.

At the same time, he urged parents to ensure that they take all their children to school irrespective of gender.
