Schools asked to be patient with students with arrears as matter is sorted out

Shinyalu MP Fred Ikana has asked principals to be patient with students who have debts as NGCDF sorts out the matter.

Schools in Shinyalu Constituency have been asked to be patient with poor students who have not cleared their fees as plans are put together to sort out the matter.

Area MP Fred Ikana said he will ensure the school fees are cleared once he receives money in the NGCDF account from which he will set aside funds for education bursaries.

He specifically said the NGCDF office had committed to pay Ksh5,000 for each of the Form Four students attending day schools in the constituency.

“I know our principals are going through tough times as they have to manage our schools amid a myriad of challenges due to poor inflow of funds. But I plead with them to be a little patient as we organize how to support the needy students,” he added.

He was speaking in his Constituency when he inspected renovation works that have transformed learning facilities at Shivakala Primary School.

“I have personally committed to the principals that I will ensure their school activities are not disrupted due to lack of funds. I, therefore, urge them not to return students with fees arrears back home,” he added.

The lawmaker also commissioned a new 8-classroom storey learning block at Lwanda Primary School.

This brings the number of such modern buildings in the constituency to ten in a span of a year.

The others include St Joseph’s Mukulusu, St Joseph’s Ingolomosio, Shitochi, St Clare’s Munasio, Mugomari, Magale, Ivakale, Solyo and St Gerald Shanjero Primary schools.
