Kisumu residents urged to donate sanitary towels to poor school girls

Reverend Johaness Amiritzar in Kisumu.

An Evangelist from Austria, Reverend Johannes Amiritzar, has called on residents, well-wishers and good samaritans with financial muscle to provide sanitary towels, especially the reusable type, to vulnerable school girls.

While speaking in Kisumu, Amiritzar said that most school girls from humble backgrounds cannot afford to purchase sanitary towels, limiting their access and that leads to them skipping school during their menses.

He said that his organization had already distributed reusable sanitary pads to vulnerable school girls across the county.

Amiritzar said the initiative is aimed at ensuring school girls pursue their education undisturbed in addition to enhancing their self-esteem.

The cleric said the action will contribute to the holistic development of the girls.

The Evangelist, who is in lakeside city for a one-week crusade, said that they aim to also assist street boys with essential needs.
