Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) chairperson Stanley Kiptis has called on council members to work together towards the highest standards of governance, transparency and accountability.

He said they should be dedicated to ensuring that the council actions align with the values and principles that underpin the principles of the organization, observing that the legal and ethical obligations placed upon them require diligence and commitment.

Kiptis was speaking during a 4-day induction workshop for the KNQA council in Mombasa, which he said is not a one-time event but a foundation upon which the council will build its legacy of effective governance.

“I acknowledge the contributions of the former council. Their leadership has laid a strong foundation, and I am certain that we are all committed to building upon that legacy. The success of this council is a collective effort, and I am confident that as a team, we will navigate challenges and seize opportunities,” he said.

He emphasized the significance of stakeholder engagement as the council decisions impact not only internal operations but also the broader community.

KNQA was set up in 2015 to help coordinate and harmonize the various levels of education and to create a database of all qualifications in the country.
