Out of 528 candidates, St. Peters Mumias Boys High School managed to send 515 to university in the 2023 KCSE examinations.
While speaking to Education News, Principal Chrispinus Owino said that the top candidate scored A plain followed by 36 A minus, while the last student got a C minus.
He said that they were happy despite falling short of their target of 5 A plain.
Owino appreciated teachers for their commitment and sacrifice to improve the school’s results, and students for maintaining high standards of discipline.
He further lauded stakeholders, BoM, parents and their Sponsor, the Catholic Church, for spiritual nourishment that enabled good results.
Owino proudly noted that teachers completed the syllabus in Term 1 and ran comprehensive programmes to reinforce the acquisition of knowledge.
He added that this year, they will go back to the drawing board to improve their grades and reduce the tail.
The target this year is to ensure all candidates attain a grade of C+ and above.
“Being the first results is a good start for me. I promise that this year we shall have a positive deviation,” he said.
