Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu has advised parents and guardians to guide their children effectively in the festive season.
“I want parents and guardians to exercise their utmost parental responsibility to appropriately guide their children on ways to effectively navigate the negative temptations that come with the festive season,” he said.
In his message to education stakeholders, Machogu specifically highlighted the need for parents to caution their children about the dangers of drug and substance abuse, which are prevalent in certain areas of the country.
He expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their support in 2023, which enabled the education sector to implement various reforms in line with the recommendations of the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms Report, further reaffirming the government’s commitment to promoting access to education at all levels and providing financial support to deserving learners.
