Youth in Kisii urged to join Ajira Mtaani Programme

The call for youth participation in the Ajira Mtaani Programme has resounded in Kisii, with the incentive of acquiring skills for both local and international employment opportunities.

Addressing bodaboda riders at Nyanturago Stadium, Ibeno Ward Member of County Assembly, Steve Arika announced the Kisii County Government’s scholarship offer for training, urging youths to seize this rare opportunity directed to the rural by Governor Simba Arati.

Arika stressed the importance of computer literacy for accessing online job opportunities, enhancing lives and supporting families.

The programme’s officer, Ishmael Nyakuni, confirmed over 1000 youths registered, set to commence classes on December 4, 2023.

He noted that participants stand to gain insights into financial management, mental health, and music and talent development.

Since its launch in February, the program has successfully trained 2000 youths countywide.

Nyakuni additionally encouraged parents to guide their children in seeking advice from respective ward officers for empowering information.
