The Kisii County government is set to confirm 904 Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers this year.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the new Kisii County Public Service Board at his Kisii stadium office, Governor Simba Arati expressed regret over their prolonged uncertainty regarding permanent and pensionable status.

Governor Arati attributed the delay to the absence of the Public Service Board in the county, following the disbandment of the former board, which led to legal proceedings over alleged unfair dismissal.

With the court now resolving the matter, Governor Arati anticipates the new Board’s immediate and diligent commencement of operations, emphasizing the need for impartiality.

In addition to that, Arati introduced Elijah Obebo as the chairman, alongside Dr. Silas Ayunga and Jane Moraa Nyabuto as Board members.

“I will grant the newly inaugurated Board independence in their duties and I wish them success,” he stated.
