Kenyenya Sub-County in Kisii is gearing up to present a total of 13,978 candidates for various examinations, including KCSE, KCPE and KEPSEA exams.

These crucial examinations are scheduled to commence in the middle of this month and early next month.

The Examinations Officer of Kenyenya Geoffrey Gechere said that this year, 2023, the sub-county is set to present 5,370 candidates for the KCSE, a slight decrease from the 5,114 candidates who sat for the same examination the previous year.

He added that among these candidates, 2,925 are boys, and the girls are 2, 445.

Additionally, Gechere stated that the Sub-County will present 4,292 candidates for the KCPE and 3,797 candidates for KEPSEA, all from a total of 105 examination centers.

“No candidate has registered as private candidates for the primary national examinations, but there are six candidates who will be taking the KCSE as private candidates,” he confirmed.

The Officer also pointed out that in the previous year seven candidates attempted the examinations as private candidates from a single center.

Furthermore, he assured everyone that comprehensive preparations have been meticulously put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of all examinations.

Gechere highlighted that the examination materials are securely guarded until the material day.

However, he decried potential disruptions due to the anticipated El Niño rains.

Nevertheless, the Officers assured candidates and their parents that with due diligence, everything will proceed without a hitch.

Gechere also appealed to the public, especially businesses near the examination centers, to cooperate by minimizing noise during the entire examination period, providing the students with the focused environment they need to excel.
