Invigilators asked to ensure integrity in administration of national exams

Teachers follow proceedings during the national exam briefing at Pokot Central, West Pokot county.

Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) representative Catherine Musila has said that delivering credible results in the forthcoming national examinations needs concerted efforts from all players in the process.

Speaking while briefing teachers who will manage national examinations at Wei-Wei Multipurpose Hall in West Pokot county, Musila stressed the need to practice integrity in order to maintain the credibility of the assessment.

She reiterated that the examination will be done twice to avoid leaking the contents of afternoon papers.

“There will be no stamping for endorsement of the sitting arrangements since it exposes details of a particular center and as such, markers are bound to hate or favour candidates,” she added.

Musila also said that this time round, teachers and relevant officers will have to sign a declaration form stating that they will not be compromised to abet exam malpractice.

She called on supervisors and invigilators who have not registered on the CP2 platform or have their details blocked by the system to re-access using the USSSD *456*9*5*5*1# and in case of difficulties, they should contact KNEC vide number 00800724900 which is toll-free.

The Officer further confirmed that supervision and invigilation will be on a rotational basis thus Supervisors and Invigilators will not be allowed to repeat a particular station.
