The Principal of Chemutia Secondary School in Tinderet, Nandi County is on the spot after irate parents took to the streets protesting his ouster from the institution.
The furious parents alleged that he was the cause of the school’s poor performance in the national examinations.
They carried placards which indicated that a whopping 67 students scored grade E in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KSCE) examination where the leading student managed to score a dismal grade of D-(Minus).
The parents now have called upon the Ministry of Education led by Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu to transfer the school head so that the school can improve performance in the national examination.
They said they wanted their children to pass exams like the previous years before the principal was deployed to the institution.
The school is said to be among the poorly performing schools in the country.
“Our students used to have good grades but everything changed after this principal was brought here.
He must go. We will close the school until the Ministry of Education addresses the issue,” Jonah Kiplimo a parent said.
