We will reward talent in gifted sports students, Homabay Governor pledges

Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga and her Kisii counterpart Simba Arati and other leaders

Homabay County Governor Gladys Wanga has promised to support any student who demonstrates exemplary performance in games and sports.
The Governor who spoke at the newly inaugurated Raila Odinga Homabay Stadium (ROSH) said the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) recognizes sports as a subject and asked all leaders to reinforce it by supporting talented children.
The governor said with the availability of the modern stadium in her county, she had instructed the Minister for Sports to start a talent academy to tab various talents among the youth.
She was flanked by her Kisii Counterpart Simba Arati to cheer the premier league match between Muranga Seal and Shabana Football clubs.
During the frenzy and electrified atmosphere by elated football fans, Governor Arati showed his mirth by shouting and clapping vehemently.
In the hotly contested match with anticipation from both sides filling the air, both teams prepared to give their all to their fans.
Shabana lost 1-0 to Muranga Sealat at the home ground against their anticipation as they accepted the fair win on the “let the best team win” slogan.
Shabanah team coach Mike Okoth said it was a fair play saying his team lost due to very slight technicalities and overconfidence.
