The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has summoned Teso North Member of Parliament Mary Emasse over the controversial remarks she made about non-local teachers not being permitted to work in her constituency.
The MP, in a recent event, told non-local teachers who have been deployed by their employer Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to work in the constituency not to take up the posts as the positions were reserved for teachers from the area.
The legislator is also a Vice Chair of the Budget and Appropriation Committee in parliament.
She is required to explain her remarks as they dispute article 27(4).
It states that no one will be barred from getting employment in a given area irrespective of colour, religion, tribe or political affiliation.
Civil Societies had petitioned the government to act swiftly to tame those in political leadership who use the positions they hold to corrupt their way to having their people posted where they wish them to be deployed.
