Sakaja pledges to pay full year school fees for 20 students

Sakaja

Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja has pledged to pay an entire year worth of school fees for 20 State House Girls students.

Speaking on Wednesday during a surprise visit to the school, Sakaja said that the support formed part of his administration’s mandate to support access to quality education for children from low-income households.

The County boss visited the students in their classes and said he was excited to interact with and listen to their aspirations and dreams as they work towards achieving their goals.

“I was very happy to interact with and listen to their aspirations and dreams. They are determined to get an 8.2 average this year. I was glad to support an additional 20 girls who have fees challenges by paying their entire year’s fees,” he said in a Facebook post.

Sakaja joined them for lunch in the school dining hall and later spent the afternoon leaving them excited.

He said that he was compelled to clear the fees after learning of their challenges at the institution.

The Governor also held a meeting with the school principal.
