The body of a male Moi University student was found dead at a guest house in Kisii county yesterday after he allegedly committed suicide.
The student is reported to have left school in Eldoret and checked into a guest house in Keroka town, Kisii on Saturday.
He checked out on Sunday morning but asked the guest room attendants to allow him to “sleep a little bit” only to find his body hanging from a rope in the shower at around 2 pm when the facility’s management went to check on him.
The motive of the incident is yet to be known since there was no suicide note recovered at the scene.
The area police boss affirmed that officers had launched investigation to further probe the incident.
Meanwhile, the body was removed to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
It was found out that the student hails from Kebirigo, a few kilometres from Keroka.
