Students at Olng’arua Primary School and Community Education Centre in Leparua in Isiolo County will have to wait a little longer to resume school after most of the school buildings were brought down by assailants from the neighbouring villages.

The institution’s manager Lipan Kitonga said when  the act went down, he managed to recognize over seven assailants who stormed into the school before torching two vehicles, three classes,  and a residential building.

The thugs stole a motorcycle and a water pump and destroyed water tanks and a biogas digester.

“The assailants started shooting indiscriminately, forcing us to escape. They stole foodstuffs, a solar panel, a television, a first aid box and books, torched the staffroom and my house and killed one of my three dogs. I reported the matter at Isiolo police station by 2am,” he said.

The school hosts 130 pupils and has played a pivotal role in the community since its establishment in 2011.

It reduced the distance learners covered since the nearest school was 10 kilometers away.

The community have called upon the police to apprehend the assailants.
