Parents in Molo Sub County have been urged to give moral support to the teachers in order for them to produce good results in national examinations (KCSE and KCPE)

Molo sub county Teachers Service Comission (TSC) Director Beth Kitenga said that it is through cooperation between teachers and parents that students can improve their academics and enhance good performance in examinations.

“Parents and teachers must work together for students to produce good results in KCSE and KCPE examinations,”said Kitenga.

Kitenga who was speaking at PCEA Kambala Girls High School, during an AGM, caution parents against defending their children when the same children are involved in indiscipline behavior while in schools.

“Some parents are fond of defending their children when they involved in indiscipline behaviors while in school, defending your child is not to mold him or her but you are destructing the child.

“The best way to do is to listen to the teachers and unite with the teachers on the way forward to correct the behavior of the child,” said Kitenga.

She said that parents-teachers cooperation is good for the entire academic life of the students in both boarding schools and day schools.

Kitenga also told parents to attend school AGMs and academic days in order to understand the academic weaknesses of the students and the way forward in improving their education standards.

She also encouraged all teachers to work professionally and put in to consideration the laws protecting children in the process of performing their duties.

“As teachers, you must work professionally and adhere to Child Rights and Basic Education Act so that you can positively mold the characters of our children to be good people in the society in future,” said Kitenga.

She affirmed that TSC cannot tolerate any teachers who do not respect the laws governing child rights.
