CS Machogu conveys condolence message to victims of road accident

Machogu, the Education Cabinet Secretary has sent condolences in a touching message to the Pwani University fraternity after the bus accident that left 14 people dead including students. The university school bus was involved in an accident while heading to Eldoret for a sports event when it hit an oncoming public service vehicle in Naivasha.

In a press statement by the Ministry of Education, the CS sent his condolences to the families of the seven students and three staff members who perished in the accident. The accident occurred in Kayole area in Naivasha along Nakuru – Nairobi highway.

“It is with great shock and sorrow that the Ministry of Education conveys its heartfelt condolences to the immediate family members of the seven students and three staff members of Pwani University as well as the passengers in the PSV. The students and staff of Pwani University were en route to participate in sports activities, critical educational experience for the
students, in Eldoret,” read the statement in part.

CS Ezekiel Machogu further wished a quick recovery to those injured and receiving medication.

“I wish the students who were critically injured and transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialized treatment and those who are still being managed at Naivasha Level Four Hospital Theater, a quick recovery,” he adds.

He also conveyed his wishes and sympathies to those who got injured and those who perished in the public service vehicle.

The CS further thanked the public for responding and offering assistance to victims after the accident occurred.
