Plans for Machogu’s homecoming ceremony underway

Plans for Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu’s homecoming ceremony are at an advanced stage.

Speaking at his home in Gesusu on Sunday, former Ichuni ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Samuel Mireri urged residents to turn up in big numbers to receive him and President Ruto who will grace the occasion.

He revealed that the main reception will be at Getacho Primary School in the vicinity of the CS’s home.

Mireri who was flanked by Masaba South KNUT branch Treasurer Paul Mariita, noted that the visit would assure the area of government support and development of key sectors especially education.

He said that teachers are confident of Machogu’s leadership in the education docket and asked all stakeholders to provide maximum support to boost education development projects.

The treasurer thanked the President for appointing various individuals from the community to prominent government positions and asked him to consider appointing teachers to some of the posts.

The Unionist’s request comes a week after the President appointed former Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi as a Cabinet Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
