Application for teachers’ special needs course at KISE now open

The Ministry of Education has advertised for Diploma in Special Needs Education (SNE) course for teachers which will be offered at the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE).

All serving TSC teachers wishing to be considered for admission of the two-year full time SNE Diploma in Service course are required to get application forms from the Ministry of Education website or from County and Sub County Director (CDE/SCDE) offices.

Basic Education Permanent Secretary Belio Kipsang indicated that the areas of specialization this year are; education of learners with visual impairment, physical handicap, mental disabilities, hearing impairment, autism and education of learners who are gifted and talented.

To be admitted for the course, one has to be below 50 years, a holder of P1 certificate or P1 by promotion through Teacher Proficiency Courses, serving TSC for at least five years and should be a Kenyan.

Duly completed forms must be submitted personally by the applicants to the SCDE’s by 16th March,2023, All applications and merit lists shall be remitted by the office of the SCDE to Jogoo House latest March 23, 2023.
