By Kipkemboi Toroitich

Kapsabet Boys High School in conjunction with Strathmore University will hold its 19th edition of their Mathematics contest to be staged in the school on Saturday, August 27, 2022 starting 7.00 AM.

Participating schools will be expected to register their contestants before the commencement time.

Over 300 schools will participate with the traditional peers like Nairobi School, Kenya High and Alliance expected to register. Neighbouring schools are also anticipated.

All the participating schools are asked to prepare under two broad categories upon which competitions will be based:

  1. Senior Category; comprising a team of 10 derived from the upper classes, that is Form 4 (6 students) and Form 3 (4 students).
  2. Junior Category; comprising a team of 10 derived from the lower classes, that is Form 2 (6 students) and Form 1 (4 students).

However, a school can make as many entries as they can, depending on their own logistics.

The registration fee will be Ksh2500 per team.

Here are the categories of awards, which will be given on the same day at the end of the contest:

  1. Best Boys School
  2. Best Girls School
  3. Best Mixed School
  4. Best Day School
  5. Best School Overall

Strathmore University will sponsor the best boy and the best girl for a Diploma course of their choice at the university. These two will be arrived at through their individual contribution to the aggregated group mark that will also account for the final tally for the school.

The Diploma sponsorship is reserved for Form 4 participants only.
