KNUT to boycott eaxmination supervision

Kenya National  Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Collins Oyuu has told teachers to be on the frontline in maintaining peace before and after the coming general elections.

In a speech read on his behave by one of the NEC members, Mr.Apondi reminded teachers to restrain their learners from following the political campaigns as excitement engulfs their regions.

The Secretary asked teachers to embark on intensive teaching and revising the covered work with the candidates to enable them prepare well for the examinations.

“This year is unique because it will have a series of examinations in both our primary and secondary schools and this requires consistent reading,” he observed.

They were mourning the death of the mother of one of their colleagues Joash Opara.

Gucha Branch KNUT Treasurer Albert Ombaso praised teachers from Kenyenya Sub-county for posting impressive results in the 2021 KCSE results.

He said the teachers’ and parents’ cooperation enable the school to top in Kisii  County, up from position two in the previous year.

He asked teachers to register in the Union in big numbers because they would be cushioned against various economic and social challenges.
