Leading inmate in Mombasa who sat KCPE scores 390 marks

The leading inmate who registered as a private candidate in the 2021 KCPE examinations at Shimolatewa G. K. Prison, Mr. Kadenge Kitsao, sored 390 marks.

Speaking to Education News from Mombasa town recently, Mombasa county Director of Adult Education, Mr. Franklin Karanja, said that more than 40 private candidates (Inmates) were registered to sit the 2021 KCPE at the prison.

He, however disclosed that 60 percent of the candidate who sat the examination got 250 marks and above.

The county director said that the 2021 KCPE performance in the county was impressive and asked all adult education stakeholders to double their efforts towards achieving better results once again in 2022 KCPE examinations.

However, Mr. Karanja urged stakeholders to cooperate fully by ensuring that they avail the necessary learning facilities at the literacy centres to enhance effective teaching and learning.

At the same time, he asked stakeholders to ensure that they crackdown all youth who dropped out of school and return them to school to continue with their education.

He further disclosed that the county’s rapid development needed educated people to accelerate development.
