Viriko Primary School records improved performance in 2021 KCPE

Viriko Primary School in Kakoneni educational zone in Malindi sub county emerged among the top performing schools in the zone in the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education ( KCPE)  with a  mean score of 278.71.

The leading candidate at the school scored 400 marks.

Speaking to Education News in his office, the school’s head teacher Mr. Moses Kazungu said that the school’s mean score had increased by 10,from a mean score of 268.71 in 2020 KCPE to a mean score of 278.71 in 2021 KCPE.

He pointed out that discipline and hard work among the pupils and team work among teachers, pupils and parents   contributed to the good results.

He lamented that many bright but needy students had dropped out of school due to lack of school  fees and urged Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs ) operating in Kilifi county to come forward and help pay fees for the children and allow them  to have access to secondary education.

Rashid Fafi, 16 years old, who topped in the exams said that self-discipline, hard work, teachers’ and parents’ support enabled him to excel in the exams.

The second best candidate, Josephine Chibanza aged 16 years old, scored 387 marks.
