Parents asked to invest more in early childhood education

Member for Kisii County Assembly representing Magenche Ward has stressed the need for parents to put more effort on their children’s formative years, encouraging them to guide their children towards the right paths in education.

Mr. Timothy Ogugu, the MCA who is also the Majority Leader of the Kisii County Assembly said this when he visited Amatagaro Primary School in his Ward to check on the progress of the construction of the ECDE classrooms.

“We want quality education in this country, we must invest in the Early Childhood Education Projects,” he advised.

He told parents that his office aspires to construct one modern ECDE classrooms for each primary school in his Ward.

The lawmaker mentioned a number of primary schools like Eberege and Rianyangita whose classrooms had been completed and were ready for use.

He appealed to the Cabinet Secretary for Education in Kisii County Mr. Amos Nyamoko to also check on schools and be updated on the progress of classrooms that are being constructed across the county.

“I urge our Education Officers to assist us in the inspection and supervision of the contraction of theses classrooms,” he remarked.

He also cautioned contractors who are dragging their legs and those doing shoddy jobs of loosing their tenders.
