Mark Burudi, 17, a class seven pupil at Lugusi Primary School in Malava Constituency Kakamega County is being detained at Kabras Police Station after an attempt to stab another student.

The culprit was found carrying a sharp knife in his bag within the school compound with the intentions of stabbing his female colleague after she turned off her love request.

According to the preliminary investigations done by the school management, it was established that the 17 year-old boy had requested the female pupil to have a love affair but the girl refused.

While confirming the incident, the area OCPD Paul Mwenda condemned the attempt, asking parents to guide school going girls on love matters, adding that the boy will be detained at the police station for further investigations.

He added that the female student was rescued by the mathematics teacher after the matter was reported to the police.

“This is very unfortunate. I don’t expect such a young boy to start engaging in love affairs and going to an extent of trying to stab his colleague, parents should guide their children accordingly,” he said in shock.
