Uriri NG-CDF extends bursary applications by one week

Uriri Constituency has extended bursary application period by one week after 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates received college admission letters.

Area Member of Parliament Hon. Mark Nyamita during a funds drive for ten churches at Piny Owacho in central Kanyamkago ward in his constituency urged students yet to join university and in need of bursaries to apply before the extended period elapses.

Nyamita noted that the applications had been closed before but it would not be fair for the students to miss out from this financial years’ National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) scholarship.

“We had initially ended the exercise and what was left was to award the bursaries to the qualified applicants. I want to call on parents to assist the students apply.” Said Nyamita.

The first time MP said that at the end of his first tenure, no school shall be lagging behind in terms of development.

“In my service to the people of Uriri, I will be pleased to see every single child able to attend school with ease. Let every child within the school going age be kept in school through the NG-CDF bursaries and other available scholarships. I’ll be at ease only when the learners are in school.” He said.

According to the MP, Uriri NG-CDF in conjunction with the Ministry Of Education plans to start a day-school at Kalei in a bid to enable the people from the area access education closer to them rather than having children traveling for long distances to schools.
