CDF lauded for assisting vocational training

Vocational training centers have lauded the support they are receiving from National Government- Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) kitty.

The Principal of Wekelekha Training Institute in Kanduyi constituency Bungoma County Melissa Khasakhala,  says they are happy that yhey are getting support to develop institutions and in terms of fees payment.

The NG-CDF support at the college that has a population of 140 trainees and five instructors has enabled many students to learn without being destructed.

In an interview with journalist in her office, the school Principal asked students who were unable to get university entry grades to join vocational training centers.

“I appeal to students who are at home that it is good that they join a technical institutions and get skills which they can specialize in at higher levels in future,” she said.

Wekelekha training Institute is a government sponsored school which offers technical courses; masonry, carpentry and joinery, electrical wiring, motor vehicle mechanics and fashion design.

The institution has been known for producing face masks that have been used by Bungoma residents to fight Covid-19 pandemic.

She added that the school is entitled to grand’s from both the national government where every student gets with Sh15, 000 for tution while the county government also offers Sh10, 000 per students.

She lauded Bungoma MP’s and the county government for their tireless support and asked them to continue supporting the school.

She also appealed to well-wishers to help them build more workshops for the trainees.
