While praising the teachers who had handled, Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and those handling Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, Garissa KNUT Executive Secretary Abdirizak Hussein has blamed the harsh weather and teacher shortage for impacting negatively on candidates.
Hussein said students in drought stricken and hot areas have little or no concentration while sitting for the national examinations.
On the current seven week long holiday, Hussein called on parents to resume their roles and guide and counsel their children against radicalization, drugs, and teen pregnancy and child marriages.
“Learners ought to avoid any activity likely to derail their learning and ruin their future careers,’’ he advised.
