As clock ticks towards the commencement of the national examination in country students have been asked to take exams seriously. School unrests have, however, been on the rise in Bungoma County with the recent one being at Khasoko secondary in Bumula constituency where a dormitory was burnt and students suspended to pave way for investigations.

In an interview with Education News, County director of Education Phillip Chirchir said that Bungoma County schools are adequately set to face KCPE and KCSE exams.

”Everything has been put in place to ensure that national exams are carried out and no cheating is reported,” he said, adding that police officers will be deployed in every exam centre to man the exercise.

He noted that oral exams have already commenced in some schools, adding that Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) rehearsal will be done on March 19, 2021 and exams administered to learners for three consecutive days.

”Today I have had a convened meeting all the nine sub-county directors of education to discuss on county preparedness on national exams, students have been in class and teachers have assured as that no exam irregularities will be reported from Bungoma county,” he noted.
