Politicians accused of meddling in KNUT elections

By Tony Wafula

Politicians have been accused for interfering in the just-concluded Bungoma South Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) election.

In the elections held January 30 at Kanduyi DEB Primary School, Kenneth Nganga retained the Executive Secretary seat.

Speaking to Education News after he was declared the winner, Nganga asked politicians to stop interfering in the union’s affairs.

He thanked members for re-electing him and assured them that he would serve their interests.

”I congratulate all of you for having re-elected me as your Executive Secretary. I will work smart to make sure everybody feels comfortable in KNUT,” he said.

Nganga urged opponents in the election to bury their differences and cooperate for the sake of teachers’ welfare.
