40 adult learners in Malindi set to sit 2025 KCSE as private candidates

Some 40 adult education learners in Malindi sub-county in Kilifi county will sit for the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education ( KCSE ) as private candidates, Education News has learnt.

Speaking to Education News in his office in Malindi town recently, Malindi sub-county Adult Education Officer, Mr Moses Uledi Mbaruku, revealed that the 40 private candidates who will sit for this year’s form four examination have been registered by the Education Ministry.

He, however, added that out of the 40 private candidates registered, 22 candidates are male, while 18 candidates are female.

“You are duty-bound to study hard to produce better results in your final national examination”, the Malindi sub-county adult education Officer advised the candidates.

Mr Mbaruku further urged teachers in the area to prepare the candidates well to enable them to post impressive performances.

At the same time, he said that  371 adult education learners in the sub-county sat for the Proficiency Test in May this year, and 310 of them passed. Meanwhile, 61 adult education learners were referred to resit the test in question.

Meanwhile, Mr Mbaruku has said that four Organisations in Malindi sub-county have volunteered to support adult education programs to make them a success.

The four Organisations are listed below.

(1 ) Cris Foundation, a German organisation which has already initiated 750 income-generating projects for the adult learners in the sub-county.

( 2 ) Elimu Resource Centre, which assists learners in Digital learning.

( 3 ) Malindi Virtual Centre, which assists learners in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education ( KCSE ) learning programmes.

( 4 ) Malindi Education Development Association assists learners with disability in KCSE programmes through the creation of awareness.
