The top three 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates  at Nkaimurunya Primary School have been granted secondary school scholarships by the Rotary Club of Karen.

The three candidate; Waynadoci Okoth who topped with 377 marks, followed by Harrison Kimani with 354 marks and Martin Ngaya with 353 marks were awarded following a pledge by the Rotary Club in November 2022 during the District Governors’ visit to the school in Kajiado North, Kajiado County.

Rotarian and Sera Kenya Limited Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Allister Lindsay said the school has never recorded such good grades before.

“This has been greatly enhanced by the support that the Rotary Club of Karen has provided over the last 10 years. Over the period, the Rotary Club of Karen has established a library at the school and donated revision books and mathematical instrument sets through our basic education and literacy programs. In addition the Club has provided mentorship sessions to the students,” Lindsay said in a statement.

He said that the funds were raised by the members through donations and fundraising activities with the aim of enriching lives through further education, especially to students coming from humble backgrounds.
