The students were issued with cheques to pay for their full school fees and cash money for shopping and uniform.

Furthermore, each student will be allocated a mentor from both the bank staff and the county Government of Trans Nzoia.

County secretary Truphosa Awuor appreciated the Bank for the sponsorship and urged other financial institutions to collaborate with the County to help in educating bright students from less privileged families.

She said that the County helped in identifying the beneficiaries adding that all of them were deserving cases having scored 380 marks and above besides having come from extremely poor families.

“Today is a happier day for you young brilliant students. I advise you to be disciplined, get good friends and perform well,” she said.

Awuor noted that the County will support more students under the bursary program whose vetting is on the way.

Also in attendance were Education Chief Officer Jane Wachenge and her Governance counterpart Sammy Sichangi, County staff and senior officers from KCB Kitale branch.
