Two General Service Unit (GSU) officers who were to supervise KCPE and KPSEA exams have lost their lives, while four others sustained injuries, as their vehicle fell victim to an improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the road to Ege Dam in Daadab, Garissa County, early on a Monday morning.
According to police reports, the officers were on their way to supervise the exams when they ran over the IED, believed to have been planted by Al-Shabaab terrorists.
The injured officers are currently receiving medical treatment at Daadab Hospital.
This incident unfolded after a call by Machogu, urging teachers who had fled the area to return to their designated duty stations.
He assured them that the government would spare no effort in providing the requisite security measures to ensure the unhindered delivery of education services by teachers throughout the country.
