The Ministry of Education through the State Department for University Education and Research has urged qualified Kenyans to apply for the Masters degree courses and internship programs sponsored by the Japanese government.

The programmes will be sponsored by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The letter, dated 4th August 2021, was signed by Obiero Afullo on behalf of the Principal Secretary State Department for University Education and Research Ambassador Simon Nabukwesi.

The letter calls upon young people to apply for the 9th batch of Masters degrees and internship programmes of the African Business Education Initiative for the youth (ABE Initiative) and SDGs global leadership program.

“The initiative offers opportunities to young people in Africa to study Masters degrees and Doctoral programmes in Japanese universities and undertake internships in Japan as well.” The letter read in part.

The educational program whose application deadline is 25th October 2021, intends to absorb Kenyans aged between 24 to 39 who possess working experience.

The letter has been circulated to all public universities and constituent colleges across the country to inform all interested and qualified individuals to make applications.
