Hope came alive at Koitaleel Samoei University College as young people from Mosoriot-based institutions convened for a powerful consultative forum that placed youth at the centre of change.
Students, staff, and stakeholders from Kenya Medical Training College, Mosoriot Campus, and Mosoriot Teachers Training College joined hands to amplify one clear message: it is time for young people to speak up.
The dialogue openly addressed pressing challenges affecting the youth, including responsible relationships, gender-based violence (GBV), drug and substance abuse, criminal activities, betting, and other social addictions. Participants agreed that silence has only worsened the situation.
“We can no longer afford to keep quiet about the issues destroying our generation,” said one student leader during the forum. “When we speak up and support each other, we become part of the solution.”

Another participant emphasised the urgency of collective responsibility. “GBV, drugs, and betting are not just individual problems; they are community problems. If we ignore them, we allow them to grow,” she said.
The initiative attracted strong stakeholder backing, including First-Track Mentors, led by CEO Valentine Simei Richard, who expressed interest in partnering with the institutions to expand the program’s impact.
“We believe in empowering young people to take charge of their future. This platform is timely, and we are ready to collaborate to scale its impact across the region,” said Simei.
Organisers who spoke at the college noted that the forum marked the beginning of a sustained youth-led movement focused on awareness, prevention, and action.
“A platform has been formed. A movement has begun,” one of the conveners stated. “Our commitment is to build a safer, stronger Mosoriot where young people can thrive without fear or limitation.”
Stakeholders pledged continued engagement through mentorship programs, community outreach, and structured dialogues to address the root causes of social challenges affecting youth.
