Work with teachers, parents to lift standards, Education officials urged

EDUCATION STAKEHOLDERS OFFICIALS

Education Stakeholders in Makueni County have been urged to work hand in hand with other parties to boost education standards within the County.

Eastern Regional Director of Education (RDE), Mr. Fredrick Kiiru, while speaking in Wote town hotel during a farewell party for the outgoing County Director of Education (CDE) Mr. James Gachungi said there was need for the officials to work closely with teachers and their trade unions as well as parents to boost academic standards.

He asked stakeholders to continue working as a team which is has been a strength for the county tha is supposed to be emulated by other counties in the country.

“Keep embracing the spirit of working together. Organise education days where the relevant stakeholders and leaders can converge and exchange ideas with a view to boosting education standards in the area,” he said.

Charles Nyakundi will replace the outgoing Gachungi who has been transferred to Mombasa County to work in the same capacity after serving in Makueni County for four years.

Kiiru also told the stakeholders that their cardinal role was to prepare the next generation to be good citizens, saying that teamwork was not negotiable since it encompasses the sharing of views and getting solutions to emerging education problems.

Present at the event were, the County TSC Director Ms. Grace Mwangi, Makueni Sub County Director of Education Mr. Onduso Magara, area KNUT Executive Secretary Mr. Benson Ndambuki, area KESSHA Chairperson Mr. Julius Mutui, and his KEPSHA counterpart Mr. Pascal Mutunga, among other notable leaders.
