Work hard towards quality grades, MP tells university students

The Member of Parliament for South Mugirango Mr. Silvanus Osoro has asked University students to work hard towards achieving quality grades that will enable them get employment after completion of their courses.

Speaking at his Constituency on March 25, he wondered why some students abandon their studies in the pursuit of none academic matters.

Saying that quality education is the only way of eradicating poverty from society, he promised that his NG-CDF office will support those who were zealous in the achievement of desirable grades.

The MP who presided over the issuance of Education Bursary Cheques to the beneficiaries from tertiary institutions revealed that there were 4000 applicants and all of them were able to receive the money.

However he said that each of this year’s applicants received a paltry Sh8,000,which was 2,000 less from what they received last year.

Osoro informed that his office had finalized plans to fund all those pupils who sat for their KCPE examinations from the constituency and will successfully join form one next term.

He said that the NG-CDF will pay the whole of first term’s fees for them to ease the financial  burden for parents.

“We shall fund these cadre of learners from the NG-CDF and money  collected from our well-wishers,” he said.

He expressed satisfaction of  the work done by his   NG-CDF Committee as they had finished buying school buses for all secondary schools in the constituency.

He asked them to think of other commendable ways of supporting education projects in the area.

The MP expressed his future desire to turn the constituency into an academic hub and asked his committee members to advise parents to take their children to school.
