West Pokot ToTs trained ahead of senior school roll out

Trainers of Trainers (ToTs) in West Pokot have been fully trained in preparedness for the Senior School roll out.

Speaking during the training programme, the West Pokot TSC County Director Dr. Esther Musani  urged the urged the participants to concentrate on the areas they are being trained on so that they will properly train others.

In an event that kicked off on August 4 and ran up-to August 8, 2025 at Chepaypay Hall in Nasokol Girl’s High School showed the seriousness and the weight of the exercise as participants and facilitators arrived early.

The ToTs drawn from the larger West Pokot County were taken through various topics with day one of the programme starting with Facilitation Skills which was followed by the Overview of CBE and Organization of learning at Senior Schools.

The other items that followed included the Competency Based Assessment Framework which was followed by Learner Characteristics at Senior, Learner Support Programme and CBE Learning Approaches.

The Topics covered during Day two of the programme included Interpretation of the Curriculum Design, Professional Documents types of Assessment and Authentic Tasks plus Public Service Superannuation Fund

The Day three of the exercise showed participants going through Assessment Tools Assessment of Core Competencies and Values Community Service Learning, Cluster Discussions and Cluster Presentations.

The Topics lined up for Day four included Administration of School Based Assessment and Reporting of Assessment Out comes. Others included Cluster Activities which incorporates Preparation of Professional Documents, authentic Assessment Tasks and Tools for Micro-Lessons.

ToTs were also trained on the Presentation of Micro-Lesson, Assessment Tasks and Assessment Tools, Teacher Wellness Presentation of Micro -Lessons Assessment Tasks and Assessment Tools all covered on the final day.

To crown it all for the day Discussion on issues rose from presentations and the way Forward.

Also speaking during the programme, Kamas Wepoghe the West Pokot County TSC Director said the TOTs have acquired the right knowledge and skills intended to train the senior school teachers who will handle the Grade 10 learners next year.
