West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin has officially commissioned the newly constructed Sangak Primary School in Pokot Central Sub-county, a landmark project aimed at enhancing access to education and fostering lasting peace along the West Pokot, Turkana border.
The event brought together senior officials from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), the Presidential Delivery Unit, and the Ministry of Interior.
Constructed by KeNHA with support from the International Development Association (IDA), the modern institution is designed to accommodate more than 800 learners from Early Childhood Development (ECDE) to upper primary levels.
It boasts well-equipped classrooms, dormitories, and other facilities that will provide a safe learning environment for children from remote and previously insecure areas.
Governor Kachapin lauded the initiative, describing it as a major step toward transforming the region through education and unity.
